Starting this week we have a digital Class library. If you find yourself unable to use Raz Kids please use the library. Week you do, you will been to send me a direct message with the name of the book you read, if you want it counted.
I will be placing all of the week’s files into a folder usable like the library. There is and Education folder in it if you cannot get into Education.com you may use that.
This week’s work
I need to hear each of you Reading to me twice a week. This helps me judge your fluency practice. I ASK for the weekly story and a Raz Kids, but I will be happy with any reading.
I would like everyone to do at least 1 Quiz on Raz-Kids this week. I will count it as a Reading comprehension Quiz. (If you do more than 1 I will average the scores). If You cannot get into Raz Kids I will place 3 books and their Quizzes in the “Suggested Reading” Folder.
Today we will be working on the newest Wimpy Kids section. Please find it in the “01 Monday” Folder
Since it is the Anti-bullying month in the APS. I am assigning you to watch the Stop Bullying now videos. You may watch any that you wish.
After you have watched, I want you to choose 1 character from the video and write to them a letter. Give them advice about how to handle their problems.
Please remember that a paragraph has the following parts
Opening sentence ( Topic Sentence)
Details
Details
Details
Closing sentence
The Opening sentence will tell everyone what you are writing about.
Details explain about the topic.
The closing sentence restates the opening. It may also finish the thought started in the opening sentence.
When you have written what you can, have someone proofread it. Proofreaders may use the code below to help you fix it.
Look over the mistakes or suggestions and rewrite it. DO NOT ERASE AND FIX. You will need to know where you started to check your mistakes later.
When you have fixed and rewritten what you can, have someone proofread it again. If you are happy with the writing, you may write your final draft. If you are not happy, rewrite it again and fix it again.
Final drafts are graded, nothing else. So if you do not have your work proofread by someone, your chances are not as good for a good score as people who had written more than 1 draft.
