Today please do a couple of things.

Vocabulary work

Please download and complete the vocabulary worksheet from the class Weiyun.

I would also like you to do one of the vocabulary practices that are linked on this Website on the post just before. Then send me a picture of the completed work. (You can do the crossword, wordsearch or vocabuzz games if you like)

Science

Please send me the weekly picture of your plants.

Please if you did not watch the video last work, do so. It is in the “Science” folder on the Weiyun.

Once you have watched the video fill in the worksheet in the Science Folder.

Week 7 Vocabulary Words

  • Slack off: (Slang) to be lazy and do no work.
  • Psyched: (Slang) To be excited.
  • Figured: (Slang) guessed.
  • Have a shot at: (Slang) have a chance to do.
  • Catch our breath: (Slang) rest.
  • Sod: Square patches of grass.
  • Pathetic: small and not very good.
  • Reduce_______ to nothing: destroyed
  • Get this: (Slang) Listen to this, (It’s odd and crazy)
  • Big baby: (Slang) unreasonable.
  • Ironic: happening in the opposite way to what is expected, and typically causing amusement because of it.
  • Guinness Book of World Records: A book that is made every year. It has written the biggest and best of every possible category. (Fastest man, Tallest woman, Person who can carry the most number of chairs, etc)
  • Refugee: person who had to move with their family to be safe from danger. (Usually war)
  • Trilogy: 3 books to complete the story.
  • Journey: trip or travels.
  • UNICEF:
    United Nations International Children’s Education Fund. (A charity that helps children around the world go to school and learn by building schools, paying for teachers, and supplying food for them.)
  • Blessing: a gift from god.
  • Responsibility: something we must care for or take care of.
