Notes about Writing

Please remember that a paragraph has the following parts

  • Opening sentence ( Topic Sentence)
  • Details
  • Details
  • Details
  • Closing sentence

The Opening sentence will tell everyone what you are writing about.

Details explain about the topic.

The closing sentence restates the opening. It may also finish the thought started in the opening sentence.

When you have written what you can, have someone proofread it. Proofreaders may use the code below to help you fix it.

Look over the mistakes or suggestions and rewrite it. DO NOT ERASE AND FIX. You will need to know where you started to check your mistakes later.

When you have fixed and rewritten what you can, have someone proofread it again. If you are happy with the writing, you may write your final draft. If you are not happy, rewrite it again and fix it again.

Final drafts are graded, nothing else. So if you do not have your work proofread by someone, your chances are not as good for a good score as people who had written more than 1 draft.
