Spelling Words, Week 5

We continued to use the Study Steps to Learn a Word.

  1. Say the word loud. Does it sound like a word you know?
  2. Look at the word. Look at how the word is formed. Is there any familiar parts?
  3. Spell the word. Say the letters to yourself. How does each letter sound in this word?
  4. Write the word. Check that each letter is clear and easy to recognize. If not try again.

In Week 5 we reviewed short vowel words and compared them to long vowel sound words.
