  • Provide training for students in planning and organizing time.
  • Support students to establish habits of study, concentration and self-discipline.
  • Allow students to progress towards becoming more independent learners.
  • Support students to develop a range of skills in identifying and using information resources.

Sickness and Emergency

  • If a student is sick at school, the school will promptly inform parents so that necessary steps may be taken to help ensure his/her well-being.
  • The school nurse will administer first aid but will not prescribe any medication.
  • Medical emergency procedure
    • In case of a medical emergency your child will be taken to The Airport Hospital. Please make sure the office has all your medical and insurance information.
  • Administering prescription medication
    • If your child has been prescribed medication that needs to be taken at school it is required that you provide the school nurse with the following information:
      • Child’s name and class
      • Parent name and contact information
      • Medical name of prescription
      • Amount and frequency of administration of medication
      • Time of last administration
      • Start and end dates of administering the medication
  • All students must participate in Physical Education (P.E.) or any other school activities including recesses and breaks unless they have a valid doctor’s note explaining the reason for their non-participation.

We all want the children to stay healthy, and to remain that way. So please before you bring your sick child to school, think about if they could infect the other students in their class. Also keep your phone handy through the day, as the school may have to call you if the child’s condition changes.

Starting this cycle we will review the Daily Operations as written in the Parent and Student Handbook.

Morning Announcements
Announcements will occur every morning at 8:00 a.m. It is expected that all teachers, students, and staff are quiet and focused on announcements.

Attendance And Punctuality
Students are expected to be seated in their classroom promptly by 8:00 a.m. daily. In order to gain the full academic benefit of the instruction here at BIBA, students must attend school for the entire academic term. Parents are discouraged from removing students from school for extended periods of time due to vacation, trips, or other reasons other than family emergencies. When a child is absent from school, a parent should telephone the main office at 8041-0390 and select the appropriate extension number on the recording by 8:30 a.m.

Lower Elementary:8003 or 8023 / Upper Elementary:8016 or 8061

Furthermore, being on time for school is one way to teach your child to respect the importance of school and learning. To help your child get the best possible start to their day, please make sure s/he is on time for school and has had a good breakfast. Late arrivals disrupt the class environment and affect all students’ learning. Students should be in school before 8:00 a.m. in order to prepare for class. Arriving to school to be prepared for lessons on time is the responsibility of the parent and student. Consistent tardiness to class will be regarded as not respecting the school’s Code of Conduct.

Help your children build good daily routines by sending them to bed at a good time, so they can get 8 hours of sleep and still be in class before 8:00 in the morning.

In compliance with the guidelines set forth by Beijing International Bilingual Academy, failure to follow the set expectations and/or rules may result in the invocation of certain consequences.

The school rules and codes of conduct shall be applicable to all students in any program or activity conducted by the Beijing International Bilingual Academy. Review the list above, and discuss the reasons why these are responsible and respectful.

Week 28 Review – SLC Special

This week’s review counts from April 10th (Today) until April 21st, It is a self-reflection set of papers. Students are expected to look over and fill in what they can from each page. This is to be ready for the STUDENT lead conference.
